Following discussions between FIA, F1 and the Miami promoter, the decision has been taken to move the start of Sunday’s Miami Grand Prix to 13:00 local time in Miami due to the weather forecast that is expected to bring heavier rainstorms later in the afternoon close to the original planned race start time.
This fifth edition of the Miami Grand Prix was initially scheduled for 16:00, but with inclement weather looming, officials opted for an earlier start. The race will take place at the Miami International Autodrome, adjacent to Hard Rock Stadium.
The Miami Grand Prix has quickly become a premier destination for motorsport fans and celebrities alike since its inception in 2022. With a vibrant atmosphere that includes music festivals and culinary experiences, it has established itself as one of Formula 1’s can’t-miss spectacles.
The event won the 2025 Promoter of the Year award at the Autosport Awards, further solidifying its status. Moreover, it recently secured a 10-year contract extension from F1, ensuring that racing will continue through at least 2041.
Katharina Nowak, a key figure behind the event’s success, mentioned, “It’s a little bit of a joint collaboration from everyone that’s hosting the celebrities.” She emphasized that the vision was always about creating an engaging experience for fans.
The 2026 Miami GP promises to be even bigger than before, with more on-track action than ever. The adaptation of its schedule reflects not only logistical considerations but also a commitment to delivering a world-class motorsports event.
As preparations continue, fans can expect an exciting atmosphere—despite weather challenges—as they gather to witness this thrilling showcase of speed and skill.
