Mickey Rourke Faces Eviction
“I said I’m not paying rent, because there’s mice, there’s rats, the floor is rotten, one bathtub there is no water,” stated Mickey Rourke, reflecting on the conditions that led to his eviction from his Los Angeles home.
The actor, known for his roles in critically acclaimed films such as ‘The Wrestler’ and ‘Sin City,’ was evicted due to nearly $60,000 in unpaid rent. A judge issued a default eviction ruling in favor of his landlord, Eric Goldie, after Rourke failed to respond to the eviction complaint filed on December 29, 2025.
Rourke owed $59,100 in back rent on a $7,000-a-month rental agreement. Despite a GoFundMe campaign that raised over $100,000 to assist him, Rourke described the effort as “humiliating” and refused the funds, stating, “If I needed money, I wouldn’t ask for no f–king charity.”
At 73 years old, Rourke has faced significant challenges in recent years. After being seen removing his belongings from the home in January 2026, he subsequently moved into a hotel in West Hollywood, where rates start at $550 per night.
Rourke’s manager indicated that the actor has been holding out for A-list paychecks, refusing to work for less than $200,000 per day. This decision comes as he has six upcoming projects listed on IMDb.com, suggesting that he may be looking to return to the industry that once celebrated him as a leading man.
Rourke’s trajectory in Hollywood has been marked by both triumph and turmoil. Once a prominent figure in the 1980s, his career saw a resurgence with his Oscar-nominated performance in ‘The Wrestler,’ yet he has struggled with personal and financial issues in the years since.
As the situation unfolds, Rourke’s next steps remain uncertain. He has expressed a desire to maintain his dignity amidst these challenges, stating, “That’s not my style.”
Details remain unconfirmed regarding any further actions he may take in response to the eviction or his financial situation.
