StubHub has announced a significant partnership with ULTRA Europe, aiming to enhance global access to the popular electronic music festival. As part of this collaboration, StubHub will serve as ULTRA Europe’s Official Distribution Partner in North America, while viagogo will take on the role of Official International Distribution Partner.
ULTRA Europe, held annually in Split, Croatia, attracts over 160,000 fans each year, making it a major event in the electronic music calendar. The first phase lineup for the 2026 festival features renowned artists such as Calvin Harris, ensuring a star-studded experience for attendees.
Adam Rapchik, a representative from StubHub, emphasized the festival’s appeal, stating, “ULTRA Europe is a bucket-list destination for dance music fans around the world, and it’s exactly the kind of event that benefits from a marketplace built for cross-border demand.” This partnership is expected to facilitate a smoother ticketing experience for international fans.
Joe Bašić, a spokesperson for ULTRA Europe, echoed this sentiment, noting, “By partnering with StubHub and viagogo, we’re focused on welcoming more international attendees, reaching new fan communities, and strengthening the overall ticketing experience for ULTRA Europe.” This strategic move aims to broaden the festival’s reach and enhance its global profile.
In a related context, StubHub has recently seen a surge in ticket sales for various events, including the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament. Notably, Nebraska fans accounted for 28% of ticket sales on StubHub, while Texas buyers led with 46%. This trend highlights the platform’s growing influence in the ticketing market.
As the ticketing landscape evolves, StubHub’s partnership with ULTRA Europe reflects a broader shift towards enhancing accessibility for fans worldwide. The cheapest ticket for the Sweet 16 on SeatGeek is currently listed at $485, with the average price for regional sessions over the last five years being $350.
With Ticketmaster holding approximately 80% of primary ticketing, StubHub’s strategic alliances may challenge the status quo, offering fans more options and potentially better pricing.
As the festival approaches, observers are keen to see how this partnership will impact ticket sales and attendance, particularly from international markets. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the full lineup and additional partnerships that may emerge as the event date approaches.
