Willow TV Launches Free YouTube T20 World Cup Matches
Willow TV has made a groundbreaking move by launching free YouTube broadcasts of T20 World Cup matches in partnership with Jomboy Media, starting February 3, 2026. This initiative marks the first time in ICC history that all four Team USA matches are available for free on YouTube.
The T20 World Cup, which runs from February 7 to March 8, 2026, features a total of 20 teams competing in 55 matches. The final match is set to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India, where India will face New Zealand on March 8, 2026, at 9:30 AM ET.
India advanced to the final after defeating England in the semifinals, while New Zealand secured their spot with a nine-wicket victory over South Africa. The expected crowd for this highly anticipated final is around 132,000.
Willow TV serves as the primary broadcaster for the T20 World Cup in the United States, and the matches will also be available on Willow’s paid channels and YouTube TV’s NFL RedZone package. This launch is seen as a significant step in making cricket more accessible to American audiences.
Todd Myers, Chief Operating Officer of Willow by Cricbuzz, stated, “We helped bring the sport into an affordable monthly subscription, and now we are taking the next step by offering free access.” This sentiment is echoed by Marc Hatfield, Partnerships Manager at YouTube, who expressed excitement about the partnership, saying, “We’re thrilled to partner with Willow by Cricbuzz to bring T20 World Cup USA cricket matches to YouTube for free.”
Jimmy O’Brien, founder of Jomboy Media, shared his enthusiasm for the sport, noting, “I discovered cricket during COVID and instantly fell in love. We’re excited to create new fans in the US for baseball’s older cousin.” This collaboration aims to introduce cricket to a broader audience in the United States.
Before this launch, ICC World Cup matches required expensive cable or pay-per-view subscriptions, making this free offering a watershed moment for cricket in America. The accessibility of these matches could potentially change the landscape of cricket viewership in the country.
As the tournament progresses, observers are keen to see how this initiative will impact cricket’s popularity in the US and whether it will lead to increased interest in future matches and tournaments.
