Maxx Crosby Trade Update
The trade to send Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens is off after the team backed out due to medical concerns. Crosby, who underwent meniscus surgery in January 2026, failed his physical examination, prompting the Ravens to rescind the agreement.
Crosby was set to be traded for two first-round picks, including the Ravens’ 14th overall pick in the upcoming draft. This trade was expected to address the Ravens’ significant need for a defensive player, as Crosby has established himself as one of the league’s best in his seven years with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Throughout his career, Crosby has recorded 69.5 sacks and 133 tackles for loss, solidifying his status as a key player for the Raiders. In March 2025, he signed a lucrative three-year, $106.5 million contract extension, which further emphasized his value to the team.
Despite his success, Crosby expressed frustration with the Raiders after being placed on injured reserve in December 2025. His commitment to the game remains strong, as he stated, “I know there’s no guarantees in this,” and expressed excitement about the potential move to Baltimore, saying, “I’m going to give everything in my heart and soul to bring a championship to Baltimore.”
The Ravens have a history of rescinding deals due to failed physicals, as seen in their voided deal with Ryan Grant, which cost them $29 million. Following the cancellation of the Crosby trade, the Cowboys are not expected to re-engage in discussions regarding the defensive star.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding whether a Crosby deal can be revived in some form. As of now, he remains with the Raiders, who would incur a $5.1 million dead-cap charge if they decide to trade him.
